MYF offers K1- 6th Grade teams for tackle football. We focus on fundamentals, integrity, respect, confidence and teamwork. We participate in the Greater Miami Youth Football Conference. You can find information about the GMYFC on its website. You can be assured that your player will compete in some of the best youth football in southern Ohio. We are a MASON ONLY organization and MYF is the true feeder system for Mason High School. On Friday Nights you will see an abundance of former MYF players on the sideline playing for the Green and White.
Equipment and Jersey: Each player is individually fitted with the proper helmet, shoulder pads, and football pants, which are provided by MYF for the season. Every player receives a personalized game jersey which is theirs to keep at the end of the season. Parents provide their player with an integrated girdle for hip and leg pads, mouth guard, non-metal cleats, socks, undergarment protection and practice jersey. Helmets are inspected before the season with the assistance of an OEM rep, so repairs and replacements are made as needed.
Facilities: Thanks to the City of Mason and Mason City Schools, our teams practice in close proximity to each other at Corwin Nixon Park, adjacent to Mason High School Atrium Stadium and at Mason Sports Park. Home games are played at Atrium Stadium on synthetic turf or across the street at the Mason Intermediate football field. GMYFC away games are often played on the fields of the corresponding high school district within the Greater Miami Conference. View a list of facilities and locations under the Fields page.
Coaching: Our coaches are NYSCA certified. All of the head coaches have gone through an interview process and background check. Most of our coaches have played the game from high school to the college level. If you have a passion for the game and the development of the youth in our community, we are always looking for quality coaches.
Divisional Play: MYF fields teams in the two divisions within GMYFC. Typically, we field at least one team in the National (upper) division and one team in the American (less competitive) division of the GMYFC, depending on class size. Our National division teams, for players desiring to develop at a quicker pace, are prepared for competitive play with an emphasis on team contribution. The American division has more restrictions on player weights and score limits and generally emphasizes participation and playing time. Our players benefit from having two divisions by improving the playing time experience and development opportunities for all players in both divisions.
Season Registration: Registration for the fall tackle football season usually begins in January and runs through July. See the Registration page for more information about fees, early bird discounts, late fees and the signup process.
